Processing Exercise

Pat’s Pet Supply is in a mess, of course.  We need to go back to the procedures and refine them and make them better in a variety of ways.   Reconvene as groups, with two subgroups:

  1. Employees (not including timekeeper)
  2. Customers (including timekeeper)

Talk about what is easy, what is hard, what seems to be right with the procedures and what seems to be wrong.  We will do this for half an hour and then come up with some suggestions.

Materials for this exercise

  1. Previous materials, including your results
  2. Copies of processing diagram

Suggested method

  1. Go over what happened and keep track of what you think posed problems
  2. What are the problems?  Who did they affect?  What were the effects?
  3. What would it take to fix the problem?  What would it cost?
  4. How do we know the problem can be fixed?
  5. What do we have to know or be able to do to fix the problem?
